 About the role:

This Project Manager role will lead IT-driven projects in US healthcare Payer space. It provides an exciting career path into the Project Management family of jobs within the Abacus Client Implementation PMO. You will have the opportunity to work on information technology projects within the US healthcare payer industry, building powerful skills, knowledge, and experience for your career at the intersection of IT and healthcare. You will have the opportunity to gain this experience on projects where cutting-edge cloud-based technologies are being deployed and within a dynamic and fast-growing company.

Your day to day:

  • Manage end-to-end execution of an individual large-scale project or multiple smaller projects, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality are consistently achieved
  • Coordinate closely with Client Delivery Managers to translate client requirements into clear delivery objectives and milestones
  • Implement project governance frameworks including RAID logs, status reporting, and stakeholder communication
  • Conduct detailed resource planning, capacity management, and risk assessments
  • Champion Agile methodologies within assigned projects; ensure backlog refinement and sprint execution quality
  • Facilitate regular status meetings, ensuring accurate project health reporting and timely risk mitigation

What you bring to the team: 

  • 8+ years of experience leading technically complex IT projects and programs, with at least 5 years in a full-time Project Manager role, demonstrating consistent on-time, high-quality delivery aligned to client commitments and internal standards.
  • Proven ability to manage projects through the full delivery lifecycle—from initiation and planning through execution, risk/issue management, change control, and successful handover—using standard PMO artifacts (Project Charter, RAID, RACI, schedules, status reporting).
  • Hands-on experience working within Agile or hybrid delivery models, partnering effectively with Product, Engineering, QA, and Data teams to ensure predictable, incremental delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Prior hands-on technical experience (e.g., software development, data modeling, system integration, or quality assurance) enabling effective engagement with engineering teams and informed decision-making on technical risks and trade-offs.
  • Strong capability in proactively identifying, tracking, and communicating risks, issues, and cross-functional dependencies, ensuring transparency, early escalation, and no surprises to stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate status, risks, mitigation plans, and decisions to clients, leadership, and cross-functional teams, aligned with Abacus’ “communicate, communicate, communicate” delivery principle.

What we would like to see but not required: 

  • US Healthcare implementation experience, with direct exposure to healthcare payer environments, enabling faster onboarding and effective client engagement within Abacus’ payer-focused delivery model.
  • Formal project management certification such as PMP® or PRINCE2®, demonstrating strong grounding in structured delivery governance, planning, and control
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification, supporting effective collaboration with Product, Engineering, and QA teams in Agile or hybrid delivery models

Working Arrangements

  • Standard hours: 9 hours/day, 5 working days
  • Location: Onsite
  • Shift: 1 PM – 10 PM local time
