The Opportunity
Position Summary:
Reporting to Project Director, the Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of projects that support operations, resident/client experience, health system efficiency, and organizational excellence.
The Project Manager plays a key leadership and support role across multiple healthcare sites and programs, delivering a full range of project management and change management services that enable Carewest to achieve its mission, vision, and values.
Working collaboratively with a broad range of healthcare stakeholders including the Chief Operating Officer, Executive Directors, Directors of Care, clinical leaders, interdisciplinary teams, and frontline care and support staff, the
Project Manager ensures project resources are effectively planned and deployed, progress is monitored, risks and issues are managed, and stakeholders are kept informed throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
This role is critical in supporting organizational transformation and ensuring successful adoption of new processes, technologies, and care practices. The Project Manager ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, and in alignment with operational standards. Projects may include program improvements, workflow optimization, HR initiatives, IT system implementation, capital or infrastructure projects, and resident/client care enhancements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Undergraduate Degree in business administration, health administration, or a related management field (or equivalent education and experience) is required.
- Healthcare experience is an asset.
- A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
- Certification and experience in change management (e.g., Prosci) is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive project management experience within a healthcare setting or similar industry, demonstrating strong competency in project planning, execution, and evaluation across clinical and operational
environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading change management initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, readiness assessment, communication planning, training coordination, and sustainability monitoring.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, influence decision making, and support staff through complex change.
- Prior experience in continuing care, long term care, or broader health systems is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse clinical, administrative, and operational stakeholders.
