Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager (Level 4) to join the Fighters Development Program Management team in Berkeley, Missouri.

The Fighters Development Programs Project Manager will lead the Large Area Displays Portfolio. This portfolio contains a set of project teams conducting Hardware (HW) development, Software (SW)/Firmware development, ongoing redesign and platform integration efforts across various levels of classification. The project manager will coordinate and be accountable to requirements and program execution for multiple contracted activities with various customer relationships across the Air Dominance Organization.

The PM will be responsible for working directly with program external customers, teaming with other Development Program leaders in the Air Dominance (AD) portfolio, and closely collaborating with cross functional partners to drive execution and make customer priorities ours. The ideal candidate will work under minimal supervision, be biased towards action, maintain a consistent sense of urgency, seek out and identify solutions, build strong internal and external relationships, collaborate respectfully and professionally, and empower the project team to meet commitments. Program management best practices, project management skills, strong discipline, superb communication skills, and constructive engagement with all levels of organization (internal partners, suppliers, and customers) are key to success in this position.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for complex projects, programs and change driven activities in accordance with project management industry. 
  • Leads studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), reports, risk assessments and planning efforts to determine impacts, constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives. 
  •  Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case.
  • Develops and establishes lead time requirements. 
  • Establishes Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) program goals and establishes a PMBP improvement plan with emphasis on RIO, contractual, and financial performance.
  • Facilitates and ensures integration of project/program plan, schedules, change and baseline management, processes, techniques considered to be best practice across the industry. 
  • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
  • Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion.
  • Coordinates commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with our major suppliers.
  • Champion a productive and positive working culture among assigned cross-functional teams
  • Other responsibilities as required for project success.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 1st shift.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 1 year of experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects, transactions or initiatives
  • More than 1 year of experience working with multiple internal or external stakeholders (i.e. business partner, customer, Finance, suppliers) in planning and executing projects or transactions
  • More than 1 year of experience supporting projects or programs utilizing Earned Value management and Risk, Issues and Opportunity (RIO) management to drive program performance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • PMP Certification
  • More than 3 years of experience developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders
  • More than 3 years of experience providing, developing, and managing resources required for program execution

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.

Position may require travel up to 25% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $118,150 - $145,950
