Job Description
To prioritise, plan, direct and integrate projects and programmes across BU/ PH aligned to strategic objectives.
To empower the Programme Management Office, team, executives, and leaders to develop and implement strategic initiatives and achieve business goals.
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the PMO strategy aligned with business goals and corporate strategy.
- Serve as the central point for portfolio management, ensuring prioritization and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Advise executive leadership on project delivery performance, risks, and opportunities.
Governance & Standards
- Establish and maintain project management methodologies, frameworks, templates, and best practices (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, Agile).
- Implement governance structures, including stage gates, KPIs, and reporting standards.
- Ensure compliance with project delivery policies, quality standards, and audit requirements.
Portfolio & Program Management
- Oversee the full project portfolio, ensuring proper resource allocation and dependency management.
- Evaluate, approve, or escalate new project proposals based on viability and strategic value.
- Monitor project delivery performance and ensure corrective actions where needed.
People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop PMO staff, project managers, business analysts, and coordinators.
- Drive capability development across the organization through coaching, training, and knowledge management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Financial & Resource Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking across the portfolio.
- Ensure accurate business cases and ROI evaluations.
- Optimize resource utilization across the project landscape.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with executives, department heads, and business sponsors.
- Ensure clear communication on project progress, risks, and issues across all stakeholders.
- Manage escalations and support recovery plans for at-risk projects.
Tools, Systems & Reporting
- Select, implement, and maintain PMO tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, Clarity).
- Provide accurate, timely portfolio dashboards and management reporting.
- Leverage data analytics for decision-making and forecasting.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, IT, or related field.
- Master’s degree (MBA or related) Advantage
- 10–15+ years of project/program management experience.
- 5+ years leading a PMO or large project delivery function.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional, multi-million-dollar programs.
- Experience with both Waterfall and Agile/Hybrid delivery approaches.
- Strong background in organizational change management and transformation programs.
Professional Certifications (Advantage)
- PMP®, PRINCE2®, PgMP®, MSP®, or equivalent.
- Agile certifications (e.g., PMI-ACP®, Scrum Master) beneficial.
