Project Management Leader

Job Description:

Role Overview:

  • The Project Head will be responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of Terex MPS crushing & screening, and material handling projects.
  • This role demands strong technical, commercial, and leadership capability to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • The Project Head will act as the primary interface between customers, engineering teams, vendors, global Terex Team, manufacturing facilities, and site execution teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead complete project lifecycle from order intake, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, dispatch, installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Create detailed project schedules, resource plans, and risk registers.
  • Ensure adherence to Terex execution processes, quality norms, and EHS standards.

Stakeholder & Customer Management

  • Act as the single point of contact for Sales and After Sales for all project-related matters which Includes Engineering, Quality & Execution
  • Conduct regular project review meetings with customers, internal teams, and leadership.
  • Manage contractual obligations, change orders, and project documentation.

Lead Project Engineering Team

  • Lead the project engineering function for layout finalization, structural engineering, equipment integration, and engineering deliverables.
  • Guide engineering teams on GA drawings, BOQs, civil loading data, fabrication details, and plant-level technical solutions.
  • Ensure timely release of engineering documentation to support procurement, manufacturing, and site execution.

Supply Chain & Vendor Management

  • Lead Procurement team for timely sourcing of equipment, fabricated structures, and bought-out items.
  • Monitor supplier performance, expediting, and quality inspections.
  • Ensure alignment of shop-floor manufacturing schedules with project milestones.

Site Execution & Commissioning

  • Oversee site readiness, mobilization of contractors, EHS compliance, and resource deployment.
  • Monitor installation progress, resolve on-site issues, and control cost overruns.
  • Lead commissioning activities and secure customer acceptance certificates.

Cost, Budget & Risk Management

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and billing plans.
  • Identify risks proactively and implement mitigation plans.
  • Drive improvements in margins through cost control and project efficiencies.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and progress reports.
  • Present updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Publish weekly/monthly project progress reports with clear KPIs.
  • Highlight delays, critical issues, and corrective action plans.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of mineral processing, crushing & screening equipment, or heavy industrial project execution.
  • Mastery of project scheduling tools (MS Project / Primavera
  • Technical Tools: AutoCAD, Pro E ,SolidWorks (for engineering collaboration).
  • Commercial awareness of contracts, P&L, LDs, warranties, and claims.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
  • Customer-centric mindset and ability to handle high-value, complex projects.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical / production engineering (preferred).
  • 15 years of experience in project management within minerals, mining, aggregates, or heavy engineering industries.
  • Experience in handling Metso, Sandvik or similar OEM projects is desirable.
  • Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent preferred.
