C.H. Robinson is seeking a Project Logistic Coordinator to join our Global Forwarding division. The Project Logistics Coordinator directly supports customer supply chains by helping to move their freight efficiently and effectively. They interact directly with customers to build and strengthen relationships, coordinate cargo bookings, and conduct analysis to help customers maximize C.H. Robinson’s technology offerings. The Project Logistics Coordinator thrives in a fast-paced environment while working to provide best-in-class customer service and problem resolution. Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Overall coordination in conjunction with Project Manager or Regional Project Manager

  • Assist with rate negotiations and carrier selection

  • Set up template for billing and project reports

  • Review customer invoicing prior to issuance

  • Monitoring credit status and balances

  • Monitor compliance with insurance requirements, reporting and claim settlement

  • Interface with client when critical issues arise and assess possible solutions

  • Familiarization with company rules, regulations and procedures

  • Advise management of charter requests and legal issues immediately

  • Compliance with corporate policy for communication, confidentiality and signing authority (financial and legal commitments)

General Operations:

  • Responsible for all project files relating to truck/rail, sea, and air, barge inbound and outbound

  • Review and handle letter of credit files, inclusive of all appropriate documentation and bank discussions. Will discuss letter of credit files with senior management if required

  • Ensure that whenever the Company is in a position of potential doubt or liability on a sea freight/surface or air file, that legal counsel is contacted, and clear and precise written direction is obtained in order to proceed and deal with the situation

  • Ensure that clients are kept well informed on their files

  • Provide management with any information that will assist in future business development, maintaining clients or increasing profitability

  • Assist and prepare agency agreements/contract of services in co-operation with and under management supervision

  • Negotiate and coordinate project cargo with the requirement that any booking notes or final agreements with carriers for sea carriage are co-signed by another senior manager

  • On site supervision of loading or discharge of equipment at the port, at rail siding, at barge terminals, at vendor manufacturing plant under the supervision of a Project Manager or Regional Project Manager

  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • 2-4 years of international freight forwarding operations, breakbulk and project cargo experience

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environment

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and phone etiquette

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

  • Exceptional customer service skills and follow up

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs

  • Knowledge or coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics and or International Business
