Ingredients Supplier Quality Assurance Project Leader

Our Global Supplier Quality Assurance (GSQA) group, International Region (Europe and Asia) currently has an opportunity for an Ingredients Supplier Quality Assurance Project Specialist. This is a fixed term contract position, with potential for renewal for the right candidate. The position will be based in the Netherlands.
The primary function of the Ingredient Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) team is to ensure a high-quality supply of incoming materials through evaluation, monitoring and ongoing development of Abbott Nutrition (AN) ingredient suppliers worldwide. Regional SQA is part of the AN Global Supplier Quality Assurance (GSQA) group, responsible for working and communicating with suppliers as part of an ongoing supplier management process. GSQA supports systems such as: supplier qualification, supplier development, supplier monitoring, and supplier event management. GSQA works in partnership with plant quality assurance, operations and purchasing groups globally to ensure that incoming material documentation including acceptance, testing/release, and CAPA are compliant to Corporate and regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Supplier Quality Assurance Project Leader, Ingredients will exhibit excellent communication and collaborative skills. They will be expected to support projects and supplier topics, including:
- Qualification of new and existing ingredient suppliers to achieve sustainable supply to AN and Third Party Manufacturers (TPMs).
- Maintaining/controlling the status of suppliers on the AN Approved supplier list.
- Provide support to AN manufacturing plants by resolving incoming material issues in a timely manner
- Initiation of deviations to assist the plants in utilizing materials, as necessary.
- Support and influence suppliers to drive to root cause and implement effective CAPA when issues arise
- Monitor supplier performance on an on-going basis and elevate trends to drive supplier improvement activities, when needed
- Ensure that proposed changes to supplier processes or ingredients are assessed, approved and compliant to AN specifications and policy requirements, and make recommendations for changes when necessary
- Support supplier certification program activities
- Maintain GSQA policies and procedures, ingredient specifications and acceptance plans, and ensure that these documents are current and compliant with internal policies and applicable regulations
- Support strategic projects to achieve department and organization goals
This role will report to the Regional Manager, International - Ingredient Supplier Quality Assurance
Competencies
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in physical or life science, engineering, or a related degree
- Minimum 3 years experience in supplier quality assurance or related experience in operations quality within a Specialized nutrition environments or similar regulated industries
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (production, logistics, and engineering) and experience applying Quality Assurance & Food Safety principles to drive improvements
- Technical understanding of different technologies (liquid and powder), product quality systems, and be able to provide consultation and recommendations to help suppliers improve their performance
- Good technical writing skills and confident using data analytical tools
- Ability to successfully interact and communicate with internal and external cross-functional teams, across all tiers of an organization.
- Language skills: Fluency in English.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree
- Ability to work independently and/or function with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage several activities/projects at once, to organize/prioritize work, to meet deadlines and to prepare plans and reports
- Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and analytical thinking
- Ability to effectively organize and communicate technical information
