Role Responsibilities:
Perform and oversee preventive maintenance schedules; troubleshoot, diagnose, and safely repair machinery to minimize downtime and scrap.
Set up and run machines and tooling as required to support production needs.
Develop, review, and optimize CNC programs for machining operations.
Manage tooling inventory and lifecycle; collaborate with external vendors for tooling changes, modifications, and procurement.
Perform and train on required safety processes before working on machinery (e.g., Lockout/Tagout); use appropriate PPE for assigned tasks; comply with HAZ/Waste regulations.
Complete necessary paperwork such as work requests, purchase orders, and daily reports accurately and on time.
Utilize computer systems for process-related functions, including data entry and analysis.
Create and implement training programs for department personnel on CMM, WINSPC, and CNC process.
Analyze current processes to identify efficiency gains and improve flow.
Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of a two-year degree in Machine Tool Operation, Precision Machining Technology or related field is required AND 7 years prior work experience in an CNC Machinist, CNC Programmer, or Tool and Die field.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate ability to:
Minimum 7 years of experience in machining operations and CNC programming.
Strong knowledge of CNC tooling, systems and vendor management.
Experience with CMM and WINSPC software.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery safely and efficiently.
Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout and hazardous waste compliance.
Proven ability to lead training programs and develop team members.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
Read and interpret blueprints, control plans, and apply to the finished part.
Understand GD&T and apply to the process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical proficiency in machining and CNC programming.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
