Job Overview
Provide project finance support and direction to Project Managers, ensuring project financials are properly monitored and managed in pursuit of timely budget revisions so that projects do not exceed the latest signed budget value, all unbilled transactions are addressed through the revision request process and overall clients receive high quality support to ensure their budgets are well managed throughout the lifetime of their projects.

Essential Functions
Conduct monthly review and analysis of assigned projects, including review of Budget tracking systems to determine if there are any budgetary issues which need to be addressed.
Coordinate with members of the Lab finance team on any systems specific actions required to address any issues/challenges uncovered in the review of project finances.
Review budget details with the Project Manager; outlining action that should be taken to avoid revenue and/or billing issues and highlight budget adjustments to be incorporated in revision requests.
Ensure the Project Manager is raising revision requests in a timely manner and support this process by capturing the relevant finance data required.
Review budget revisions before they are sent to clients to ensure they look reasonable, capture all unbilled items and the budget is sufficient until the predicted end of the study.
Provide appropriate training and support to PMs to ensure they have a clear understanding of the projects financial position and can clearly communicate the status to the client.
Provide finance support to Project Managers on any client requests to discuss the project finances in more detail.
Track and manage Financial performance metrics for assigned clients and implement process improvements to ensure excellent financial delivery
Participate in client meeting as requested to support financial related discussions.
Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 3 years’ accounting or project finance experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge of revenue recognition, variance analysis, unbilled/unearned, cash flow management, and backlog forecasting.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Technical accounting skills.
Good analytical and numeracy skills.
Ability to identify financial issues and execute mitigating actions.
Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate clearly and regularly across departments/regions and externally with global clients.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients.
