The opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy as a Project Engineer – HV Breakers and help turn complex engineering challenges into reliable, high‑quality solutions. In this role, you will be at the heart of project execution, working side‑by‑side with experienced engineers and operations teams to keep customer orders moving smoothly from design through shipment. You will spend time on the shop floor, collaborate across functions, and take ownership of technical issues that arise during manufacturing and testing.
This is a hands‑on opportunity to deepen your expertise in high‑voltage breaker technology while building strong connections across engineering, production, and quality teams. You’ll play a key role in problem solving, ensuring designs are correctly implemented, and supporting on‑time delivery—directly contributing to customer trust and satisfaction in a collaborative, supportive environment. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
How you’ll make an impact
Act as technical lead for shop‑floor issues on customer orders
Prepare and manage Bills of Material in ERP systems
Interpret electrical circuit diagrams and schematics
Review mechanical designs and 3D models using tools such as Creo
Support testing activities with design and secondary engineers
Resolve technical questions from production and testing teams
Coordinate with cross‑functional partners to align on order requirements
Maintain and update quality notifications for assigned projects
Your background
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
4–6 years of experience with high‑voltage switchgear (66 kV and above)
Knowledge of international standards such as IEEE, ANSI, and IEC
Experience with ERP systems is an advantage
Ability to read manufacturing drawings and electrical schematics
Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
