Raytheon is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer in El Paso/Fort Bliss, Texas will be responsible for multiple Depot sustainment, integration and production projects within the depot operations in a defense contractor setting. The selected individual will work closely with Program Management organization, internal and external customers, depot operations, and all other functions to ensure adherence to program schedule, cost, quality and technical performance for assigned programs. The role acts as the liaison between manufacturing depot operations and the program office and requires daily interface and communication with all depot functions to cover cost management, operations status, issues, risks, opportunities as well as preparing corrective action plans for technical and schedule issues. The Project Engineer serves as a key liaison between stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the program lifecycle.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with program and operations leadership to shape, develop and execute
  • program strategies and objectives to achieve the cost, quality and schedule goals
  • Own program on time delivery and earned value performance (SPI, CPI) while managing risk and opportunity
  • Coordinate day-to-day work with Production Control and Work Area Leads, following local procedures and processes which may require creation of work instructions and driving internal reviews
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering to help ensure technical requirements are met
  • Communicate clearly to identify the support needed to remove barriers to execution
  • Bill of Material and requirements management
  • Prepare and deliver monthly program updates and financial performance reports
  • Complete quick turn Proposals and Write Basis of Estimates (BOE’s)

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior experience.
  • Experience in one or more of those areas: Operations, Production, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and/or Program /Project management.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes across product life cycle, preferably in sustainment / depot
  • Continuous improvement mindset and high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Mechanical or electrical technical background with knowledge and ability to interpret product technical requirements. A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) preferred.
  • Experienced collaboration with functional partners including Supply Chain Management, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and EHS
  • Strong project planning skills and experience with risk management and mitigation
  • Strong customer focus and ability to collaborate and communicate clearly at various levels
  • Growth mindset to expand organizational capabilities
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or similar business process
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent systems
  • Leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
