The Retail Project Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of large-scale, multi-site retail development and construction programs for national and global clients. This individual leads cross-functional teams, manages client relationships at the executive level, and ensures seamless execution of capital projects—from concept through closeout—while aligning with brand standards, operational requirements, and sustainability goals.
Provide strategic oversight and direction for retail construction, renovation, and rollout programs across multiple geographies.
Serve as the primary client liaison for assigned accounts, building trusted advisor relationships with C-suite and real estate executives.
Lead integrated project teams (including architects, contractors, vendors, and internal JLL specialists) to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including financial forecasting, change control, milestone tracking, and reporting.
Ensure all projects comply with local regulations, safety protocols, brand guidelines, and ESG/sustainability commitments.
Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practices, technology solutions (e.g., BIM, Procore), and lessons learned across the portfolio.
Mentor and develop junior project managers and coordinators within the retail practice.
Collaborate with JLL’s Capital Markets, Leasing, and Facilities Management teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 12–15 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 8 years focused on retail environments (e.g., flagship stores, shopping centers, mixed-use developments).
Proven track record managing $10M+ portfolios or multi-location rollouts for national/international retail brands.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, cost estimating, contract administration (AIA, JCT, etc.), and building codes.
Professional certification such as PMP, LEED AP, RIBA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud).
Willingness to travel up to 30–40% as required by project needs.
