About the Role
NISC is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team supporting member-facing software projects across the Energy and Communications industries. This role offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams including Development, Quality, Product Management, Release Management, and Learning Center to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
The level of this position will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, and demonstrated competencies, offering growth potential aligned with your career progression.
Work Schedule
- Hybrid (after an initial training period) from one of our office locations:
- Cedar Rapids, IA
- Lake Saint Louis, MO
- Mandan, ND
- Hybrid Schedule: Minimum of working 3 days per week in the office and ability to work up to all 5 days a week in the office, as needed
- Required Days from an Office Location: Tuesday and Wednesday - the third required day will be up to the candidate and their supervisor to choose
Essential Duties
- Schedule and organize project meetings, maintain documentation, and distribute minutes
- Maintain task lists, project trackers, and comprehensive project documentation
- Assist with or independently manage project schedules and status reporting
- Track risks and issues, escalating to product managers as appropriate
- Learn and effectively utilize tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Generate reports and dashboards for stakeholders to support project performance and communication
- Develop strong communication and organizational skills while supporting the team
- Support or lead cross-functional coordination and collaboration efforts
- Facilitate meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 1+ years of relevant experience required
- Experience level will determine placement and responsibilities:
- Entry-level candidates (1+ years): Focus on learning project management tools, scheduling meetings, and maintaining documentation
- Mid-level candidates (3+ years): Independently maintain schedules, facilitate meetings, and generate standard reports
- Senior-level candidates (5+ years): Coordinate multiple projects, prepare comprehensive reports, and mentor others
- Understanding of project management principles, methodologies, tools, and lifecycle phases
- Familiarity with documentation practices and meeting protocols
- Knowledge of reporting and dashboard creation for project performance and stakeholder communication
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong telephone/email etiquette and ability to deal effectively with project stakeholders
- Strong ability to demonstrate attention to detail
- Excellent ability to organize and prioritize
- Strong research and problem-solving skills
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and accountability
- Ability to support or manage multiple projects simultaneously
Education Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
