Job Summary: This position is for a PROJECT COORDINATION SPECIALIST (INDEF) (TITLE 32), PD D2589000 and is part of the MEDDET Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC), located in Camp Williams, UT, with the Utah Army National Guard. IAW UTNGR 690-12 dated AUG 2022, Priority will be given to all current, onboard employees of the UTARNG. The selecting supervisor for this vacancy is CPT Dallin Peterson. This is an INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT NTE 31 MAR 2030.

Major Duties:

  • Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list As a PROJECT COORDINATION SPECIALIST (INDEF) (TITLE 32), GS-0301-11, you will: Analyzes, coordinates and/or performs a variety of special projects/program assignments and studies leading to the resolution of management problems and improvement of operations. Independently develops a plan of action and recommends solutions. Coordinates with State ARNG/ANG Command staff, Directorates or Group Commanders, and NGB Functional Managers to obtain and exchange information and develop recommendations for management decisions. Monitors and analyzes program/project progress, recommending changes based on findings as needed. Develops all reports, briefings, and status of assigned projects/programs. Performs a wide variety of support duties to facilitate the work of the office. Arranges scheduling of appointments, meetings, briefings, and other commitments directly effecting future decisions and program direction. Provides management information, advice, and assistance to the State ARNG/ANG Command staff, Directorates or Group Commanders on programs/projects assigned. The incumbent researches current Laws, DoD, Department of the Army (DA), Department of the Air Force (DAF), NGB, and State policy, and uses judgment to decide appropriate policy and procedures in relation to current projects, taskings, issues and concerns. Serves as a Project Manager for emerging projects assigned to/by the State. Responsible for establishing project teams, managing budget requirements throughout project life-cycle, leads team in identification of goals and objectives, stakeholders, tasks, associated risks, and milestones. Determines workload structure to identify tasks and assign resources. Uses knowledge and experience to analyze information and make quick and appropriate decisions. Responsible for the work of assigned personnel. Performs the supervisory and managerial responsibilities. Assigns work to functional staff members in accordance with established organization mission and functions, workload fluctuations and personnel availability. Defines and interprets governing policies, procedures and regulations. Provides financial advice and renders decisions on major problems. Reviews operating procedures and policies with respect to the desired performance objectives of management. Advises management of operating areas at risk of not achieving desired performance and recommends corrective actions. Develops or directs the development of new or changed internal operating procedures and instructions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Have experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems. ** Must hold a Para/Ln in the 97th Troop Command or be able to transfer with current Command approval. ** SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Have at least 1 (one) year as a GS-0301-9. (Must provide SF 50 to validate response) OR Have lexperiences in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures.
