Role Summary
You will support the Project Controls team by helping organize, validate, and structure historical project cost data that underpins cost reporting and forecasting for a major infrastructure program. This role focuses on strengthening data quality and consistency by reconciling information across systems, aligning costs to standard breakdown structures, and preparing inputs that can be directly used in reporting and analysis. The internship provides practical exposure to how cost data is used to support governance, transparency, and decision‑making on complex capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in cleaning, validating, and structuring historical project cost data from 2025 to present
Support reconciliation of cost records across source systems, reports, and supporting documentation
Help organize cost information in line with established project cost breakdown structures
Contribute to the preparation of cost reports, summaries, and dashboard inputs for internal use

Collaborate with the Cost Engineer and broader Project Controls team to support ongoing reporting activities

Currently studying Engineering, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline
Strong Excel capability, including confidence working with large datasets, formulas, lookups, and pivot tables
An analytical and methodical approach with a high level of attention to detail and data accuracy
Ability to work through incomplete or inconsistent information in a structured and disciplined way
Interest in project controls, cost management, or large‑scale infrastructure and capital programs
What Success Looks Like
By the end of the internship, you will have supported the consolidation and structuring of historical cost data covering 2025 through early 2026, producing a usable dataset aligned to a consistent breakdown structure. You will have identified and documented key discrepancies or gaps, and prepared cost inputs that can be directly used in monthly reporting or dashboards. Your work will contribute to improved data reliability and clarity within the Project Controls function.
Reporting & Integration
You will report to the Head of Project Controls (or delegate) and work day‑to‑day with the Cost Engineer. You will be embedded within the Project Controls function, supporting broader project reporting and cost analysis activities and collaborating with stakeholders as needed.
