What We Can Offer
At APMT Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement is driven by Lean principles, ensuring that every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.
Exposure to a major infrastructure program where digital planning and visualization directly support real construction sequencing and decision‑making
Hands‑on experience with industry‑standard project controls, scheduling, and BIM‑based tools in a live project environment
A structured internship with clear success criteria, mentorship from experienced project controls professionals, and meaningful deliverables
A supportive environment that values balance, learning, and collaboration across engineering, planning, and delivery teams
Key Responsibilities
Support the Project Controls team in integrating 3D design models with schedule data using tools such as Synchro or Navisworks
Assist in developing 4D visualizations that clearly communicate construction sequencing, phasing, and dependencies
Help structure, clean, and align schedule activities to ensure consistency between planning data and model elements
Produce clear visual outputs, including animations and snapshots, for internal reviews, reporting, and stakeholder discussions
Coordinate with engineering and design teams to obtain, review, and validate model inputs
Contribute to improving how the team transitions from traditional PowerPoint‑based schedules to model‑based visual planning
Support documentation of lessons learned to enable scaling of 4D planning across future project scopes
What We Are Looking For
Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a strong mindset of continuous improvement – someone who is naturally curious, committed to solving problems at the root, and driven to make things better every day
Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline
Foundational understanding of BIM or 3D modeling tools such as Revit, Navisworks, or similar platforms
Interest in project planning and scheduling, with exposure to Primavera P6 or similar tools considered an advantage but not required
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with complex datasets across models and schedules
A structured, analytical thinker who enjoys translating technical information into clear, visual outputs
Reporting & Integration
You will report to the Head of Project Controls (or delegate) and work day‑to‑day with the Planning Engineer and design teams. You will be embedded within the Project Controls function, collaborating closely with engineering, planning, and delivery stakeholders throughout the internship.
What Success Looks Like
By the end of the internship, you will have contributed to a structured 4D model covering a defined project scope, established clear linkages between schedule activities and model elements, and produced visual outputs actively used in planning or reporting. Your work will help improve clarity in how digital planning can be scaled beyond static presentations to support smarter project execution.
FLSA Status : Non-exempt
Work Schedule: Interns will work full-time during the summer and part-time during the academic year. No overtime.
