GENERAL SUMMARY

Serve as a trusted advisor by providing business consulting services to designated project groups for a broad range of both Capital and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) projects. Promote sound business decisions and best practices in the areas of planning, scheduling, budgeting, financial analysis, schedule/cost control, and effective risk management is support of Energy Northwest business requirements. Monitor customer business processes and project performance to ensure sound business and financial controls are instituted. Ensure that budget, cost, and schedule practices conform with generally accepted accounting principles, industry standards, and contractual requirements.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible for leading with minimal supervision the development, coordination, tracking and execution, to include:

  • Provide Project Controls oversight of assigned Capital and O&M projects and adhere to Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.

  • Regular and proactive collaboration within the department and external customers

  • Provide technical direction and support to project managers through regular touch base meetings.

  • Develop project cost schedule using project cost estimates and project manager input using available tools and processes.

  • Monitor project performance against the baseline schedule by analyzing variances, forecasting, and trends.

  • Provide monthly analysis and financial summaries to supported managers and Corporate Finance.

  • Develop recommendations for corrective actions to project managers to recover cost and schedule deviations back to the established baseline schedule.

  • Recommend changes to the Long-Range Plan based on current project performance and lessons learned through project controls.

  • Perform alignment between project schedule, estimate and risk register

  • Project assurance - understanding of project processes, identifying and managing risks, and the ability to conduct objective reviews

  • Understand and process approved project baseline changes following the change management process.

  • Process monthly journal entries into the financial system.

  • Assist with the onboarding and training of new Project Controls staff.

  • Review journal entries for accuracy prior to posting in the financial system.

  • Review baseline changes to ensure adherence to Project Controls procedures and practices.

  • Maintain Project Controls P6 schedule layouts.

Perform any special assignments and exhibit leadership qualities and demonstrate proficiencies using gained knowledge through experience and education.

Participation on the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) when designated. And support the biennial refueling outage.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Project Controls & Assurance Analyst V

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Project Management, business or finance related field, Project scheduling experience, and 5 years of industrial level experience working in project scheduling
  • OR an AA degree and 7 years of industrial level experience working in a project scheduling, budgeting, or risk related position, preferably within a large company or profit center
  • OR in lieu of degree, a High school diploma or GED and 8 years of industrial level experience working in a project scheduling, budgeting, or risk related position, preferably within a large company or profit center.

Project Controls & Assurance Analyst IV

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Project Management, business or finance related field, AND 3 years of industrial level experience working in project scheduling
  • OR an AA degree and 5 years of industrial level experience working in a project scheduling, budgeting, or risk related position, preferably within a large company or profit center,
  • OR in lieu of degree, a High school diploma or GED and 6 years of industrial level experience working in a project scheduling, budgeting, or risk related position, preferably within a large company or profit center.

Project Controls & Assurance Analyst III

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Project Management, business or finance related field, AND 2 years industrial level experience working in Project scheduling,
  • OR an AA degree and 3 years of industrial level experience working in a project scheduling, budgeting, or risk related position, preferably within a large company or profit center,
  • OR in lieu of degree, a High school diploma or GED and 4 years of industrial level experience working in a project scheduling, budgeting, or risk related position, preferably within a large company or profit center.

Project Controls & Assurance Analyst II

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Project Management, business or finance related field, Project scheduling experience,
  • OR an AA degree and 2 years of industrial level experience working in a project scheduling, budgeting, or risk related position, preferably within a large company or profit center,
  • OR in lieu of degree, a High school diploma or GED and 3 years of industrial level experience working in a project scheduling, budgeting, or risk related position, preferably within a large company or profit center.

Project Controls & Assurance Analyst I

  • Requires AA degree from an accredited college or university and 1 years of industrial level experience supporting a position in project scheduling, budgeting, or risk related environment, preferably within a large company or profit center,
  • OR a High school diploma or GED and 2 years of industrial level experience supporting a position in project scheduling, budgeting, or risk related environment, preferably within a large company or profit center.

Pay Range:

Project Controls & Assurance Analyst V Salary: $106,670 - $160,006

Midpoint: $133,338

Project Controls & Assurance Analyst IV Salary: $92,750 - $139,124

Midpoint: $115,937

Project Controls & Assurance Analyst III Salary: $80,704 - $121,056

Midpoint: $100,880

Project Controls & Assurance Analyst II Salary: $70,102 - $105,154

Midpoint: $87,628

Project Controls & Assurance Analyst I Salary: $61,016 - $91,524

Midpoint: $76,270

Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

Incentive Compensation

This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
