Project Controller

📍 Uppsala, Sweden

We are looking for a Project Controller to join our Capital Portfolio Team. In this role you will  support capital investment projects as well as non-investment projects  within our Operations organization. In this role, you will provide financial oversight, analysis and reporting to ensure projects are delivered in line with budgets, forecasts, and financial governance.

Working in a highly regulated life sciences environment, you will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to support effective financial planning, monitoring, and reporting of CAPEX and OPEX activities.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to projects that support the development and manufacturing of innovative pharmaceutical and life science products that improve patients’ lives.

About the Role

As a Project Controller, you will ensure strong financial governance and transparency across our projects portfolios. You will manage financial data, provide insights for decision-making, and act as the Finance partner to Project Managers and cost center owners supporting cost tracking, forecasting, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting for capital projects within Operations.
  • Support budget preparation, monitoring, and financial follow-up for project portfolios.
  • Track, analyze, and report project financial data in line with company policies and financial systems.
  • Act as the primary finance partner to Project Managers, supporting project cost control and forecasting.
  • Support Line Managers with OPEX budgeting and financial follow-up.
  • Review and approve purchase requests related to project and operational costs.
  • Serve as system administrator for the financial project tracking tool and ensure compliance with financial governance.
  • Represent Finance in cross-functional project meetings and present financial insights to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial controlling processes.

Your Profile

You are an analytical and structured finance professional who can translate complex financial data into clear insights that support project decisions. You enjoy working cross-functionally and building strong relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in financial controlling, project controlling, or similar roles
  • Experience from manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environments is a strong advantage
  • Fluent in Swedish and English
