Job Description

Are you interested in working as a Project Control Officer as part of the HR & CLAO Tech team in Global Functions Technology at the Royal Bank of Canada?

RBC`s HR & CLAO IT Project Management Office (PMO)  is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of IT solutions for our HR and CLAO business partners. Our project practitioners follow best-in class Project Management practices in strategic planning, risk management, vendor relations, stakeholder relationships at all levels and rigor in project health reporting.

What will you do? 

  • Support the Senior Project/Program Managers in the creation and maintenance of detailed large integrated project/program schedules using MS Project, ensuring the dependencies within the schedules are established and facilitating communication / resolution of schedule variance issues with the project team.
  • Tracks project finance according to approved cost funding, including monitoring funding amounts / resource forecasting, validating / tracking contract invoices to project finances, and contributing to project documents focusing on project financials
  • Support the capture and tracking of identified risks / issues / action items, with owners identified and mitigation / action plans defined; track with owners progress to get to closure
  • Prepares weekly/monthly reporting for Senior Management/Executive view as per the program / project governance model.
  • Collaborates with PMO team to identify opportunities of continual improvement in project delivery practices

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven, organized and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong skill set in  Communication, Time Management, Leadership, Stakeholder Engagement, Analytical Thinking, Problem Solving, Results Driven, Curiosity, Strategic Thinking

Nice-to-have 

  • Understanding of IT Project Management standards and methodologies (SDLC, EPMF, Waterfall, Agile)
  • Knowledge of Project Management Software (MS Project, Planview SaaS, Confluence, JIRA)
  • Knowledge of Business Analysis Processes (requirements gathering, documentation, use cases)
