As the Director of PMO and Project Delivery, you will play a critical role in leading and coordinating the successful delivery of Cabot’s change portfolio across the Group. Operating at the intersection of strategy and execution, you will provide clear direction and oversight to ensure programmes and projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business goals.
You will lead the PMO and IT project delivery functions, driving effective portfolio management, strong governance, and consistent project standards. In doing so, you will build and support high-performing delivery teams and ensure that all change activity remains closely aligned to Cabot’s strategic priorities.
Responsibilities:
Define and drive the project delivery strategy aligned with business priorities and regulatory requirements.
Lead the delivery of major programmes including transformation, regulatory change, and business improvement initiatives.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing decisions through data-driven insights and project performance metrics.
Establish and embed robust programme and project governance frameworks, ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance.
Own and evolve portfolio management standards, tools, and methodologies.
Ensure governance and controls are in place and that there is effective risk, issue, and dependency management across all projects.
Lead, inspire, and grow a team of project managers, business analysts, and PMO professionals.
Manage the budget
Champion a culture of continuous improvement, agility, and excellence in execution.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, IT, Legal, Risk, and HR to enable cohesive project execution.
Maintain strong relationships with external vendors, regulators, and consultants as needed.
Sills and Experience
Proven experience in a senior PMO or programme delivery leadership role within financial services (banking, insurance, lending, etc).
Deep understanding of regulatory environments (e.g., FCA, PRA) and change delivery within such contexts.
Strong command of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
Experience overseeing multi-million-pound portfolios with cross-functional interdependencies.
Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments with high expectations on delivery and quality.
Qualifications:
Degree in Business, Technology, or related field (preferred).
Professional certifications such as PMP, MSP, PRINCE2, or Agile qualifications (Scrum, SAFe) are desirable.
