As a Program Support Worker, you will create safe spaces for people engaging with our community in line with Trauma Informed Care Principles. Offer support with practical tasks in line with the mission and values of TSA. Work in a team to support people who approach the Salvation Army in line with the No Wrong Door policy. This is a service-based role. 

This is a full-time permanent role based in Surry Hills. Salary is in accordance with SCHADS Level 3.

How You will make an Impact

  • Provide trauma‑informed, client‑centred support using a No Wrong Door approach.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of local services and make warm referrals across TSA and external agencies.
  • Assist with planning and delivering community programs, outreach and events.
  • Respond to community needs promptly and empathetically, keeping accurate case notes and records.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to service improvement by identifying gaps and risks.
  • Coordinate donation pickups/deliveries and support general program administration.
  • Follow TSA safety procedures, report risks, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

What You will Bring

  • Certificate IV in Community Services (or relevant experience).
  • Experience in community services (desirable).
  • Understanding of trauma‑informed practice.
  • Mental Health First Aid (preferred) and Food Handling (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse communities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • NSW Employee Working with Children’s Check
  • Current valid driver’s licence (preferred)
