About Teledyne

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated provides enabling technologies for industrial growth markets that require advanced technology, reliability, and regulatory rigor. These markets include aerospace and defense, factory automation, environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, energy, medical imaging, and pharmaceutical research.

At Teledyne MEMS – Bromont, technology is directly embedded in a high‑mix, high‑reliability manufacturing environment. Digital systems, automation, data, and software platforms are not support functions—they are core enablers of productivity, quality, compliance, and scale.

We are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins.

Role Purpose (Vision)

The AI Solution Architect is a strategic and hands‑on architecture role for the Bromont site and a key contributor to Teledyne’s collective AI Champions network.

This role exists to design, build, and operationalize scalable AI solutions—moving beyond isolated tools or experiments to cohesive AI systems embedded in engineering, IT, OT, and manufacturing workflows.

The AI Solution Architect defines how AI is structured, governed, integrated, and scaled across Bromont, ensuring solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with long‑term business and operational objectives.

You will operate at the intersection of AI architecture, software engineering, platforms, and industrial operations, acting as both a solution architect and a technical visionary.

Organizational Context

  • Primary AI Solution Architect for Bromont MEMS, partnering with local IT, OT, automation, quality, and engineering leadership

  • Contributor to enterprise AI standards and reference architectures, while tailoring and extending them for Bromont’s fab, MES, QMS, and regulated manufacturing environment

  • Acts as a trusted technical advisor to site leadership on AI‑related investments, risks, and architectural decisions

Key Responsibilities

1. AI Architecture & Technical Strategy

  • Define and own the AI solution architecture for Bromont, spanning tools, platforms, agents, integrations, and governance

  • Establish reference architectures for:

    • AI‑augmented software development

    • AI agents and workflow orchestration

    • Secure integration with enterprise and manufacturing systems (repositories, MES, QMS, ticketing, documentation)

  • Translate enterprise AI strategy into site‑ready architectures and roadmaps grounded in operational reality

2. AI Platforms & Scalable Systems

  • Design and evolve scalable AI platforms, not one‑off solutions

  • Ensure AI systems are built with:

    • Reusability and composability

    • Long‑term maintainability

    • Auditability and traceability

  • Define patterns for model usage, prompt reuse, evaluation, monitoring, and lifecycle management

3. AI‑Augmented Software Engineering Enablement

  • Architect Bromont’s adoption of GitHub Copilot and developer AI tools, from pilot to industrialized usage

  • Define AI‑first development workflows for:

    • Code generation and refactoring

    • Automated testing and validation

    • Documentation, changelogs, and release artifacts

  • Build and govern reusable code, prompt, and agent libraries, including security, licensing, and compliance considerations

4. AI Agents & Workflow Orchestration

  • Architect and implement AI agents that:

    • Assist engineers, IT, and OT teams

    • Automate repetitive or error‑prone cognitive tasks

    • Integrate cleanly with existing systems and data boundaries

  • Define agent orchestration patterns, access controls, and failure modes appropriate for industrial use

5. Governance, Security & Responsible AI

  • Define architectural guardrails for AI usage in an IP‑sensitive, regulated manufacturing environment

  • Partner with IT Security, Compliance, and AI Governance to ensure:

    • Secure model and data usage

    • Licensing and IP protection

    • Data privacy, export control, and audit readiness

  • Provide architectural feedback to enterprise AI governance based on Bromont deployments

6. Enablement, Coaching & AI Community Leadership

  • Act as a multiplier, enabling others rather than owning all delivery

  • Architect and deliver:

    • Hands‑on labs and architecture workshops

    • Reference implementations and demo repositories

    • Practical guidance for engineers, architects, and non‑coders

  • Represent Bromont within the AI Champions community, sharing architectures, patterns, and lessons learned

What Success Looks Like

  • AI solutions are architected once and reused many times, not rebuilt per team

  • Engineers and technologists work faster, with higher quality and consistency, because AI is embedded in core systems

  • AI agents reliably handle low‑value or repetitive cognitive work

  • Bromont is recognized as a reference site for industrial‑grade, scalable AI architectures

  • AI initiatives move from pilots to sustainable, governed platforms

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Strong software engineering background (Python, Java, or similar)

  • Proven experience designing end‑to‑end AI solutions and architectures

  • Hands‑on experience with GitHub Copilot or equivalent developer AI tools at scale

  • Familiarity with agent frameworks and orchestration platforms (LangChain, Hugging Face, or similar)

  • Experience integrating AI with enterprise systems via secure APIs

  • Solid understanding of secure development practices, IP, and licensing constraints

  • Ability to influence, mentor, and align stakeholders across disciplines

Preferred / Differentiators

  • Experience deploying AI in industrial, manufacturing, or regulated environments

  • Exposure to MLOps / ModelOps, evaluation, monitoring, and lifecycle governance

  • Cloud and platform experience (Azure/AWS)

  • Low‑code / citizen‑developer enablement (Power Platform or similar)

  • Strong systems thinking and architectural documentation skills

Why This Role Matters

This is not a research role and not a centralized corporate AI function.

This role exists to architect how AI is safely, scalably, and pragmatically used at Bromont—multiplying human capability while respecting manufacturing constraints, compliance, and long‑term sustainability.

You will help define how Teledyne builds and scales AI solutions for the next decade.
