Key Responsibilities:
Purpose of the position:
The purpose of this position is to coordinate and ensure execution of resource acquisition plan in alignment with the National Office strategy: this will include ensuring compliance to protocols/processes and standard operating procedures for grant acquisition. The incumbent is expected to lead business development as an area expert within the organization. Responsibilities include facilitating organizational positioning for funding, active seeking of new funding opportunities both local and international and tracking grant compliance. The incumbent will be responsible for advising on due diligence outcomes for potential donors at local and international level.

Key Outputs/Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Pipeline Management
Design and collaborate across different levels of the organization to develop annual GAM workplans, including engagement plans aligned to the pipeline forecast
Lead annual pipeline forecasts and development of the GAM business plan aligned to the strategy.
Maintain a live pipeline of funding opportunities and coordinate timely submission for concept notes and proposals.

Operationalize the national resource development strategy and ensure timely achievement of set targets and objectives
Contribute to engagements and reflections on grant acquisition at Board level , Project level and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) level
Coordinate innovative engagements both internally and externally to establish a co-creation and design agenda for potential donors.
Proposal Development and Quality Assurance
Coordinate Go/No Go internal process in collaboration with department lead for each opportunity, and ensure the appropriate use of the Grants Risk Assessment Form and Due Diligence is used to make informed decisions
Coordinate donor partnering efforts including due diligence processes and development of partnering tools and frameworks.
Coordinate proposal development and donor submissions collaborating across different functions within the organization.
Coordinate internal proposal review processes and donor feedback integration.
Collaborate with field teams and technical specialists in identifying and designing projects for potential co-creation with donors.
Facilitate staff sensitization sessions on the role of staff within the design of grant proposals and the successful implementation of grants.
Identify capacity gaps or upskilling opportunities for FO teams in grant acquisition and management
Donor Engagement and Relationship Management
Engage with donors and partners for new funding opportunities.
Represent WV Eswatini in high-level donor and government engagements as delegated.
Represent WV Eswatini at partnership-level GAM engagements as required.
Operationalize the donor engagement plan including mapping and targeting potential donor (identify, develop, and track new and current donor relationships) and work proactively with technical teams and Program Development and Quality lead to ensure seamless donor intelligence sharing and coordinated grant opportunity targeting.
Organize local networking events aimed at positioning World Vision Eswatini (WVE) as a strategic partner for social development
Participate in meetings with support offices (SO), Regional Office(SARO), foundations, bilateral and multilateral institutions, and corporates.
Support the conceptualization branding or marketing material and communication strategies/massaging (social media, websites, etc.) aimed at promoting WVE’s national brand.
Collaborate with the DMEAL lead to facilitate sharing of impact data and capacity statements with local and international donors
Advance efforts to partner with local corporates and individual
Participate in coordination calls with NO peers (information sharing, learning seminar, global/regional updates and training sessions)
Facilitate and ensure timely feedback and reporting to donors and key stakeholders on funded projects implemented by the organization.
Schedule and coordinate conducting of routine engagements (including at field level) with both local and international donor as well as counterparts from other field offices.
Grant Management
Coordinate project start-up, grant health tracking, and closure of grant projects.
Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and Administration teams to conduct model fidelity and grant compliance assessments aimed at fostering all compliance and management on reporting, procurement, transfer of assets and financial management.
Coordinate compilation of the Grant Health Tracker and facilitate engagements, compilation and operationalization of corrective action plan in liaison with the PDQ lead.
Collaborate with NO finance and legal risk and compliance offices to monitor grant burn-rates, audit reports and risks, and further coordinate addressing of issues with relevant technical teams.
Prepare grants performance reports based on standardized grant metrics and protocols.
Support efforts toward establishing model fidelity frameworks for Grants
Collaboration, Alignment, and Strategic Integration
Collaborate with technical, field, and strategy teams to ensure that grant designs are evidence-based and aligned with national and global priorities.
Facilitate cross-departmental linkages to strengthen proposal quality, design, and resource mobilization strategies.
Facilitate staff sensitization sessions on the role of staff within the design of grant proposals and the successful implementation of grants.
Identify capacity gaps or upskilling opportunities for FO teams in grant acquisition and management (ie. iMPAQ, Proposal Pro, sub grantee management, technical branding, National resource development, etc.)
Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the PDQ Director.

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
Professional Experience
1. 5+ years of experience in program design and resource mobilization.
2. Excellent writing and donor engagement skills.
3. Proven ability to collaborate with all levels of staff and to motivate and mobilize individuals outside their reporting line to achieve agreed strategic plans.
4. Comfort and confidence working in a diverse and inclusive team environment.
5. Experienced networker with strong skills in donor relations, negotiations and partnering with up to date knowledge of the donor landscape and trends in the humanitarian sector
6. Solid understanding of the full grant cycle and of grant compliance procedures for major bilateral and multilateral donors.
7. Proven experience and skills in proposal writing
8. Must be highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office products
9. Highly proficient at written and spoken English, additional languages are an advantage
10. Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities
Required Education, training, License, registration and certification
Advanced degree or Master’s Degree from a recognized University in a relevant discipline; Social Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
