As a Program Supplier Assurance Engineer here at Raytheon, you will be the primary interface between our supply base and internal stakeholders of critical and technically advanced Department of Defense (DOD) Programs.  

What You Will Do:

  • Collect & Analyze Supplier Quality Performance data.
  • Create and manage Supplier Engagement Plans and their implementation.
  • Present Supplier Quality performance analyses and action plans to Program and Functional Organizational leadership.
  • Develop and manage contractually driven Quality requirement plans for procured materials.
  • Ensure flow down of product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers through Purchase Order requirements, Quality Notes, and Statements of Work.
  • Interpret Quality requirements to ensure the supply base both understands and complies with them.
  • Drive continuous product and process improvements in our supply base by identifying supplier risk & systemic performance issues and driving the implementation of solutions through various tools/methodologies including Root Cause Corrective Actions, and Statistical/analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies.
  • Drive the application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes related to supplier performance and lead supplier engagements to improve supplier manufacturing processes.
  • Can anticipate some travel (Up to 25%) to support supplier engagements, assessments, reviews and audits.
  • Represent Quality in review boards reviewing changes to supplier designs, process & procedure changes, and qualifications.
  • Support management of nonconforming supplied materials and products utilizing Quality Notifications, Ship-At-Risk & Manufacturing Lean Authorizations.

Location Information:

  • The position primarily interfaces with the program team in the Forest, MS area in a remote work schedule. Some travel can be expected as part of this role (Up to 25%).
  • This position currently is designated as remote. Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate for this role will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories).

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically, a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.
  • Experience performing Root Cause and Corrective Action efforts to drive resolution.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and 8 years' experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with one or more of the following Quality Management standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9145, or Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Assurance Provisions.
  • Experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)
  • Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers/ customers.
  • Experience in Department of Defense product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test, and delivery.
  • Experience in engineering, development, project planning, and collaborating remotely.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems, AS9145 Requirements for APQP & Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and First Article Inspection (FAI) Standard AS9102.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following aerospace or commercial equivalent preventative tools - Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Lean Manufacturing, Control Plans, other process improvement tools
  • General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)
  • Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and self-managed technical contributor.

This position may require a security clearance after day 1.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
