Salary Range: $62108 - $90898 Per Year

Job Summary: OIG is organized into seven operational units: the Immediate Office of the Inspector General, Office of the Counselor, Office of Audits and Evaluations, Office of Healthcare Inspections, Office of Investigations, and Office of Management and Administration. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 60 locations throughout the country.

Major Duties:

  • Duty locations are limited to the following for this position: Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Kansas City, MO; Washington, D.C. The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Perform analytical work and complaint intake associated with program activities. Analyze complaints and develop plan for handling, including opening case referrals and following up for appropriate response and disposition of complaints. Perform complaint intake, review, resolution, and follow through. Initiates hotline cases for serious allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, or mismanagement in VA programs and operations. Follow up on active hotline cases to ensure timely completion.

Qualifications: You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-9: Specialized experience is one year of experience at the GS-7 level or equivalent, which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position must include: -Receiving and reviewing complaints from internal or external stakeholders; AND -Analyzing complaints and making recommendations for appropriate referrals in regards to an agency's mission, goals, and objectives. OR EDUCATION: A related master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. Attach a copy of transcripts or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit. OR Combination of experience and education. This is creditable providing the combination consists of 100% of the requirement. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
