The Opportunity:

As a Program Specialist 2, you’ll play a key role in keeping the University organized and compliant. Under the guidance of the Policies, Records, and Forms (PRF) Coordinator, you will take ownership of coordinating the University’s records retention program—ensuring that we meet state and federal requirements and maintain best practices.

You’ll also support the PRF Coordinator in shaping and refining the University’s administrative policies and rules. This means you’ll have the opportunity to draft policy language, proofread and edit revisions, circulate drafts for feedback, and prepare final versions for online publication. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple moving parts will help keep our policies clear, accurate, and accessible.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $3,752 to $5,011 | Range 42 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in an area related to the work of PRF, OR equivalent education/work experience

  • Demonstrated skill in organization and strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling

  • Demonstrated skill and experience in proofreading

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues and internal and external constituents

  • Demonstrated high productivity and experience meeting deadlines


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in WordPress, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat and Illustrator, web design, and forms creation

  • Experience and/or demonstrated knowledge in the area of records retention and disposition, including in IT/online environments

  • Experience with website administration
