About the Role
PATH India is seeking a Program Officer – Digital Health to support the design, implementation, and scale-up of digital and AI-enabled health initiatives across the Global South. The role will focus on project management, technical coordination, stakeholder engagement, and operational support for a multi-country project rolling out digital health and AI solutions to strengthen health systems and advance universal health coverage.
The Program Officer will work closely with internal technical teams, country consultants, government counterparts, donors, and technology partners to ensure timely delivery of project outputs and effective adaptation of the identified digital health use cases to country contexts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management and Operations
- Provide overall support for project planning, execution, and day-to-day operations, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and outputs.
- Track progress against workplans, timelines, and budgets, and support regular reporting to internal teams and donors.
- Coordinate internal teams and external consultants across multiple countries to ensure alignment and quality of deliverables.
- Support documentation of implementation processes, learnings, and outcomes for dissemination through reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products.
2. Landscape Assessment and Technical Analysis
- Lead digital health and AI landscape assessments, including desk reviews and primary consultations such as key informant interviews and focused discussions along with core team and in country members
- Consolidate findings, priorities and gaps into structured assessment report.
- Assist in identifying and prioritizing digital health and AI use cases aligned with country needs and health system priorities.
3. Technical Enablement and Solution Adaptation
- Provide technical and managerial support for the enablement of priority digital health and AI applications in selected countries.
- Liaise with technical solution providers in India and South Asia to support customization, localization, and integration of digital health solutions as per country priorities and needs.
- Support design of pilot-based roll out of selected digital health and AI based use cases in collaboration with national authorities, validating feasibility, effectiveness, and impact.
- Contribute to the development of transition and scale-up plans to support long-term government ownership and sustainability.
4. Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination
- Support coordination with government stakeholders, funding organizations, implementation partners, and technology providers across participating countries.
- Facilitate collaboration between country teams, consultants, and solution partners to ensure seamless technology transfer and implementation.
- Assist in organizing stakeholder consultations, training sessions, and workshops to build capacity for solution use, management, scale up and maintenance.
- Liaisoning and advocacy with government and partners for end-to-end adoption of the aligned use cases for each stakeholder
5. Knowledge Sharing and Spearheading Global South Collaboration efforts
- Support documentation of implementation learnings and best practices to enable cross-country knowledge exchange and replication.
- Contribute to dissemination efforts through conferences, policy briefs, peer-reviewed publications, and regional forums.
- Support efforts to position project outcomes as replicable models for government to government and government to private digital health engagement and technology transfer
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced degree in Public Health, Digital Health, Health Informatics, Health Management, Engineering, International Relations or a related field.
- At least 6-7 years of relevant experience in digital health, health systems strengthening, technology-enabled large-scale projects, particularly at the regional or global level
- Experience supporting multi-country or multi-stakeholder projects, including coordination with country governments, international financial and technical partners.
- Familiarity with Indian and global health system design, digital public infrastructure for health, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and emerging technologies such as AI/ML
- Strong understanding of digital health use cases and AI applications in public health and healthcare delivery.
- Cross-functional experience working on telemedicine, health tech, and MedTech innovation projects, including deployment and scale-up, will be an advantage

- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences, supported by strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively across multiple team functions and verticals.
