Program Manager
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating progress of multiple projects within a program, managing dependencies across projects/workstreams, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. This role coordinates cross-functional teams, manages budgets and resources, mitigates risks, mentors and coaches Project Managers within their program, and communicates regularly with stakeholders to ensure program success. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex initiatives from conception to completion. This role also includes direct project management responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge and experience with complex workflows.
Hybrid position--must be able to work on-site at Sentara Park, Virginia Beach, Virginia several days per week; including training periods
Education
High School / GED (Required)
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
Certification/Licensure
One of the following certifications or equivalent, but must obtain within 1 year of hire:
Project Management Institute Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM)
Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP)
Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP)
Project Management Institute Program Management Professional (PgMP)
Scrum, SAFe or equivalent
Experience
6+ years of experience in program or project management with a proven track record in managing large-scale, complex projects or programs (Required). 8+ years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
The ideal candidate will have:
Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholder relationships.
Healthcare experience
Care delivery (ambulatory, hospital, post-acute), health plan, corporate/shared services, and/or technical project management experience
Will have technical knowledge and experience with complex workflows
