The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of the largest providers of homelessness services across the country. Our philosophy is that every person should be afforded dignity and respect and that no one should be without a safe, affordable, and secure home. We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services. 

About the role 

As a Program Manager, this is your opportunity to set an inclusive employee culture, provide management and coordination of St Kilda Crisis Support services, contribute to leadership coordination of TSA programs, support strategic management and leadership within the Homelessness Stream, and ensure services comply with legislation, funding arrangements, targets, quality service provision and TSA accreditation. 

Reporting to the Regional Manager, this is a permanent full-time role, located in St Kilda, VIC. 

How you will make an impact  

  • Ensure inclusive, accessible and responsive service delivery through effective operational planning, compliance with funding and service standards, strong risk management, quality complaints processes and sound management of budgets, buildings and assets 

  • Establish and maintain systems and processes that support consistent practice, continuous service review, data-driven evaluation, improvement in service models and the identification of service gaps and opportunities 

  • Lead and develop the workforce by managing team leaders, recruiting qualified staff, supporting training and development, fostering a positive and inclusive culture, overseeing performance and conduct matters and ensuring health and safety 

  • Embed strategic service planning by incorporating the voice of clients, implementing national practice frameworks, contributing to business development and tendering and aligning local and state priorities with national agendas 

  • Build strong sector involvement and partnerships through collaborative relationships, clear referral pathways, active participation in forums and peak bodies and support for accreditation and compliance activities 

What you will bring 

  • A Tertiary qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field OR demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development 

  • Demonstrated experience in social service environment including in leading and supervising staff 

  • A current VIC drivers licence and employee Working with Children’s Check

Conditions  

Compensation is in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award  Level 7
