Job Description:

Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s Protective Services (PS) Program while also serving as the primary Protective Services Agent for designated executives. Provides discreet, professional protective services in alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and healthcare environment, and ensures the safety of executives during daily activities, travel, and high-risk or high-visibility events.

Leads program strategy, policy development, vendor management, and operational execution, working closely with executive leadership, executive assistants, Security and Business Continuity leaders, other internal stakeholders and external partners.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Protective Services Operations
    • Serves as the primary Protective Services Agent for designated organization executives, to include providing close protection during travel, events, and routine business activities.
    • Conducts advance work, including site surveys, route planning, venue assessments, and secure movement coordination.
    • Performs threat, intelligence, and risk assessments to inform protective posture and mitigation strategies.
    • Maintains readiness to respond to medical, security, or crisis incidents, consistent with healthcare-focused protection standards.
    • Coordinates daily protective activities with internal stakeholders.
  • Protective Services Program Design and Management
    • Designs, implements, and continuously improves the system-wide Protective Services Program, including policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Establishes program governance, operating models, and performance metrics aligned with organizational risk tolerance.
    • Ensures integration with internal and external stakeholder groups.
    • Benchmarks program practices against peer healthcare and regional organizations to inform maturity and scalability.
  • Vendor and Partner Management
    • Identifies, evaluates, and manages third-party vendors supporting Protective Services, including but not limited to:
      ◦ Supplemental protection agents
      ◦ Secure transportation and drivers
      ◦ Technical surveillance countermeasures (TSCM)
      ◦ Intelligence and risk advisory services
    • Leads vendor onboarding, contract oversight, service-level expectations, and quarterly business reviews.
    • Coordinates vendor support for large events, executive travel, or elevated threat conditions.
  • Training, Compliance and Readiness
    • Maintains personal and program-level readiness, certifications, and qualifications related to Protective Services, defensive tactics, firearms (if applicable), and emergency medical response.
    • Develops and coordinates PS-related training for internal staff or supporting personnel, as appropriate.
    • Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organization policies related to protective services and use of force.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or related field
  • 3+ years experience demonstrated success in providing protective services or executive protection for a private sector organization
  • 1+ year experience in a position responsible for overseeing programs, services, vendors, or employee staff


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Emergency Management, Business/Healthcare Administration, Security Management or related field


Licenses/Certifications

  • Emergency medical training (e.g., TCCC, TECC, EMT, or First Responder)- Minimum of First Responder required within 180 days of hire
  • Certified Protection Specialist (or equivalent)-Certification in executive protection, from civilian, military and/or law enforcement programs required within 180 days of hire
  • Valid Driver’s License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver’s license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment

Pay Range

Pay Range: $46.42 to $64.22 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
