The Program Manager will assist in planning, executing, and tracking outcomes and deliverables as part of developing and maintaining a portfolio of community-engaged, health disparity research programs.
Essential Functions (Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee and assist with implementation of day-to-day project and budget management for community-engaged, health disparity research programs, including in collaboration with other academic institutions and community-based organizations and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain systems for tracking multiple community-engaged, health disparity research program deadlines, activities, and outcomes.
- Develop and coordinate progress reports and presentations as required by research program sponsors or in communicating programmatic outcomes to diverse stakeholder audiences.
- Plan and provide logistical support for research and community stakeholder meetings
- Assist with development and coordination of research grant proposals and budgets
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of specific federal funding agency policies and procedures (e.g., NSF, NIH, DOE) and online submission systems.
- Develop and maintain systems for tracking multiple community-engaged, health disparity research program deadlines, activities, and outcomes.
- Develop and coordinate progress reports and presentations as required by research program sponsors or in communicating programmatic outcomes to diverse stakeholder audiences.
- Familiarity with human subjects' research requirements, IRB procedures, and data governance best practices.
- Plan and provide logistical support for research and community stakeholder meetings
- Assist with development and coordination of research grant proposals and budgets
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Preferred:
- Demonstrated knowledge of program and project management methodologies.
- Ability to manage and manipulate large datasets accurately and apply concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to handle multiple priorities in stressful situations
- Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate a high degree of patience, and adapt to changing priorities without disruption
- Strong system development skills, including high proficiency with software programs
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the full suite of Microsoft office products
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Education and Experience Required:
- Completed master’s degree in a public health, community health, or related scientific field
- Prior community engagement and/or community-engaged research experience
- Prior program or project management experience
