Job Overview

Program Manager, IT Construction and Renovation, University Information Services (UIS) - Georgetown University. This position is responsible for the strategic integration of IT infrastructure within the University’s capital construction and renovation projects. The Program Manager ensures that technology requirements, including networking, audiovisual systems, and physical security, are integrated into architectural designs from inception to completion.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of IT workstreams for campus construction and renovation projects.

  • Review architectural blueprints and CAD drawings to ensure IT spatial and cabling requirements are met.

  • Manage relationships and performance of low-voltage contractors and AV integrators.

  • Coordinate with Facilities Management and MEP teams to align power and cooling with IT needs.

  • Oversee IT project budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with University goals.

    Work Interactions

    This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure and serves as a critical liaison between UIS and the Department of Planning and Facilities Management. The role influences the organization's overall scheme by ensuring that new and renovated campus spaces are equipped with modern technology to support the University’s mission. The incumbent collaborates with external general contractors and internal academic stakeholders to align technical delivery with project timelines.

     

Requirements and Qualifications

    • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.

    • Experience: 5 years of practical experience in IT program management with a focus on physical infrastructure or construction coordination.

    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading construction drawings (Bluebeam/AutoCAD) and knowledge of BICSI/TIA standards.

    • Preferred: PMP certification and/or RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer).
