Reporting to the Program Director, in this new career opportunity as a Program Manager the experience you bring to this position will see you work proactively in collaboration with functional teams and defence force specialists. Engaging directly with Commonwealth representatives, you will provide the vital support necessary to deliver specialist defence programs.
A background in defence industry project management enhanced by knowledge in systems, technology, hardware and operational programs will be highly advantageous. In this position you will be entrusted with responsibility to capture, develop, plan and execute new and enhanced specialist defence projects.
Key Responsibilities:
apply your knowledge and skills to develop, plan and implement multiple complex projects that will progress concurrently to deliver program objectives;
lead and collaborate in a cross-functional environment to meet operational requirements; ensuring capability meets defence readiness requirements to contract commitments;
engage with Commonwealth representatives; communicating effectively to provide information and resolve queries and ensuring your team delivers to stakeholder KPI’s and measures.
prepare and provide briefings and reports to required standards.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Degree qualified in Engineering, Business or Project Management.
Minimum of 4 years Project Management experience in a project leader or management position, preferably aligned with an understanding of the commercial requirements and processes of the Australian Defence sector.
Prior experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
Strong communication skills, verbal and written, coupled with the ability to present professionally to various stakeholder groups directly or in virtual meeting forums.
Demonstrated experience delivering head contract requirements per Statement of Work – on time, to budget and to specified standards.
AIPM Certification or similar (desired).
Prior experience with planning and managing cross-program communications and stakeholder engagement, coupled with proven background in managing teams.
Successful candidates must be eligible to meet ITAR compliance requirements and able to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
