Job Summary: You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER (System Safety Program Director (SSPD)) in the Research & Engineering Department (E), System Safety Division (E4) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-06 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15.

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the System Safety Program Director (SSPD) for the System Safety Division that is responsible for providing programmatic and technical leadership to a team of engineers, scientists, technicians, and analysts.
  • You will oversee the planning, execution, and management of complex system safety programs, ensuring alignment with Command and Department strategic objectives, including managing program budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • You will conduct comprehensive analyses of program needs, resource requirements, and potential risks; reconcile program demands with available resources, ensuring efficient allocation and effective utilization of funds to achieve program objectives.
  • You will advise the Division Director and other senior leaders on system safety program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • You will serve as a primary point of contact and authoritative source for decisions and guidance regarding system safety program objectives, modifications, and trade-offs.
  • You will monitor and evaluate emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in system safety and proactively identify opportunities for improving program effectiveness.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading program management efforts in the development and execution of project plans, budgets, or schedules for safety programs to mitigate risk and ensure alignment with strategic objectives for an organization.
