About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to drive alignment between technical execution and broader business strategy. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring cross-functional teams are synchronized. Management of streams will be primarily using Jira Align, facilitating real-time visibility, top-down planning, and strategic execution.  

As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for orchestrating large-scale initiatives, breaking down silos across teams, and ensuring that our investments are aligned with business outcomes. Your expertise in Agile methodologies and enterprise-level planning will be crucial in enhancing our program execution efficiency. 

This position is based in our Heredia, Costa Rica office and follows a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to work on-site a minimum of one day per week. Please note that specific business units or role requirements may require additional in-office days based on team collaboration needs or operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities Program Management & Collaboration 

  • Lead and manage the overall program for cross-functional Agile software development teams, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals. 

  • Develop program roadmaps in collaboration with Product, UX, and Engineering, setting clear goals, tracking progress, managing dependencies, and mitigating risks. 

  • Ensure efficient program execution through Agile frameworks and practices, improving team collaboration and delivery timelines. 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders across the organization, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring all teams are aligned with program objectives. 

  • Proactively identify and address program risks and issues, escalating as necessary to senior leadership. 

  • Develop risk mitigation plans, handle escalations, and facilitate resolution of conflicts across teams or stakeholders. 

  • Oversee program capacity planning, ensuring team bandwidth and resources are effectively allocated to meet business needs. 

  • Manage budget tracking and financial oversight for program initiatives, ensuring alignment with cost objectives and maximizing ROI. 

  • Provide executive-level reporting on program status, including budget, capacity, risks, and performance insights. 

Product Operations & Enablement 

  • Oversee program operational processes, ensuring they are scalable and optimized for efficiency. 

  • Collaborate on backlog best practices, feature prioritization, and resource allocation to ensure smooth execution. 

  • Optimize operational workflows and tools for maximum team effectiveness, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements. 

  • Deliver subject matter expertise, at an Admin level, and training on the product toolset, including Jira Align. 

  • Collaborate with release management and other workstreams as needed. 

  • Maintain program-level documentation. 

Data-Driven Program Management 

  • Use data analytics to identify trends, measure program performance, and drive continuous improvement. 

  • Develop and maintain data dashboards to provide real-time insights on program health to leadership. 

  • Create reports that evaluate program outcomes, OKRs, and recommend areas for improvement. 

  • Track financial metrics and capacity utilization to ensure resource efficiency and budget adherence. 

Team & Leadership Development 

  • Lead by example, using emotional intelligence to motivate, mentor, and guide team members and delivery managers. 

  • Manage cross-functional relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities. 

  • Address team dynamics, resolve conflicts, and maintain high morale through challenging phases of program delivery. 

  • Influence, motivate, and guide cross-functional teams without direct authority. 

  • Potentially manage and direct teams and individuals. 

Required Qualifications & Experience 

  • 5+ years of experience in program management, project management, or Agile coaching within a product or engineering environment. 

  • Strong familiarity with Jira Align (or equivalent Agile portfolio management tools) and enterprise Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, Disciplined Agile). 

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and executive leadership. 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret program performance metrics and drive data-informed decisions. 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a focus on emotional intelligence and team development. 

  • Agile certification (e.g., SAFe Program Consultant, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Professional) is a plus. 

  • Expertise in Agile frameworks (Scrum, Lean, Kanban) and tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar. 

  • Proven experience managing large, complex, cross-functional programs. 

  • Experience in budget management, financial forecasting, and capacity planning. 

  • Proactive selfless leadership approach with a flexible schedule to best support the business.
