WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Program Manager will oversee the end-to-end process of application decommissioning, ensuring the successful retirement of applications and associated infrastructure. The role requires strong technical expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior management. The Program Manager will also be responsible for producing weekly reports, escalating risks or delays promptly, and ensuring the timely delivery of project milestones.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of application decommissioning, from planning to closure. Ensure associated infrastructure (e.g., servers, databases, storage) is decommissioned in collaboration with technical teams.
- Adhere to organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements during decommissioning. Identify and mitigate risks associated with application and infrastructure decommissioning.
- Deliver detailed weekly reports to stakeholders and senior management. Include key metrics, progress updates, risks, and issues in a clear and actionable format.
- Track project timelines to identify potential delays or risks. Escalate issues promptly to stakeholders and propose solutions to ensure project continuity.
- Ensure decommissioning projects are completed within agreed timelines and budgets. Coordinate cross-functional teams to maintain alignment and collaboration.
- Provide clear, concise updates to both technical and non-technical audiences. Maintain transparency and manage expectations effectively.
- Prioritize achieving project deliverables and meeting stakeholder expectations. Ensure all milestones are met with a results-driven approach.
- Anticipate challenges and propose actionable solutions to mitigate risks. Maintain a proactive approach to ensure smooth project execution.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must-have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in program/project management, preferably in IT, application decommissioning, or managing multi-stakeholder projects.
- Proven track record of delivering technical projects on time and within scope.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy, even under pressure.
Nice-to-have:
- Understanding of IT infrastructure components (e.g., servers, databases, networks).
- Familiarity with application lifecycle management, decommissioning processes, and security/compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in project management tools like Jira, MS Project, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with IT governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT).
