The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions at Grand Canyon University is seeking an innovative faculty member to lead our new Doctor of Physical Therapy program.  As a full-time Faculty Program Lead, you’ll be responsible for providing effective leadership for the program, the program faculty, and students to ensure high quality and accreditation/regulatory compliance.  The candidate should value education and interprofessional practice and support the mission of the university.

This role is located at our main campus - 33rd and Camelback in Phoenix, Arizona

What you will do:

  • Assesses and reports on program metrics, such as faculty workload and scholarly productivity, student satisfaction, program graduates, graduation rates, enrollments, etc. to assure program goals are being met

  • Develop and provide instruction consistent with the University’s course load requirements that incorporates current teaching methodologies, technologies and other trends that reflect advances in the requisite discipline educational instruction

  • Engage students within classroom to stimulate discussions for collective learning as well as assist and actively mentor students outside classroom hours

  • Incorporate relevant research resources and experiential activities to support course objectives, lectures and learning outcomes

  • Assess student performance in areas like progress, professional behaviors and academic standing in accordance with University Assessment Practices and accreditation standards

  • Assist with curriculum design and development; be a sound advocate for change to programs, curriculum and teaching methodologies/pedagogies

What you need:

  • Active, unencumbered PT license in the state of Arizona

  • An academic doctoral degree: PhD or EdD

  • A minimum of six years full time higher education experience

  • A minimum of three years full time experience as a core faculty member in a CAPTE-accredited entry-level physical therapist education program

  • Has experience in:

    • Administration, management and leadership

    • Educational theory and methodology

    • Instructional design

    • Student evaluation

    • Outcome assessment

    • Fiscal management

    • Program evaluation, assessment and curriculum development

  • Has prior engagement at the academy/academic institutional level

  • Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research and/or publications)

  • Provides a positive example to faculty and students by supporting the University’s Mission, Doctrinal Statement, and Ethical Position Statement
