EWS Program Director Rolling Meadows, IL facility,
Northrop Grumman Mission System’s Navigation, Targeting and Survivability (NTS) Division has an immediate opening for a Program Director position. This position reports directly to the Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) Operating Unit Director and will be a full-time onsite position located at our Rolling Meadows, IL facility, requiring travel to other Northrop Grumman facilities, customers, and supplier sites as needed.
The director will be responsible for leading the EWS Product Line Management team. This is a leadership position with daily executive interactions, and the successful candidate must display consistent impeccable judgment and embody Northrop Grumman leadership behaviors. The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels, including executive leadership.
The Program Director will be responsible for the following:
- Leading and directing cross-functional integrated product teams to meet cost, schedule and technical performance objectives on production contracts
- Identifying, allocating and managing program resources (both staffing and non-staffing resources)
- Partnering with operations team to develop sourcing strategies
- Leading product line CCBs to manage product line variation and maximize commonality
- Developing and managing affordability initiatives to meet design-to-cost targets
- Planning for and managing investments into the product line (capital, IR&D, etc.)
- Developing and maintaining roadmaps for product line, including upcoming feature/design insertions, proactive obsolescence redesigns, etc.
- Developing and maintaining an overarching test equipment strategy
- Providing recurring updates of procurement forecast to internal operations team as well as to key suppliers
- Concisely and effectively presenting information management to enable sound business decisions
- Providing day-to-day people leadership of a diverse team and creating an environment that accelerates development of talent and enhances employee engagement
- Driving continuous improvement to improve our ability to deliver capability faster and more economically to our customers
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience supporting Department of Defense, Government contracts, or project management in other industries
- Demonstrated program execution experience across various program phases and contract types
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance
- Demonstrated understanding of EVMS and Risk and Opportunity Management
- Demonstrated experience with new business / capture management
- Demonstrated experience with establishing customer intimacy
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel at least 25% of the time
- Active DoD Secret Clearance; OR DoE equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration
- Experience capturing/executing international FMS and/or DCS programs
- Experience leading a team of program managers, with demonstrated success aligning teams, organizations to achieve a common goal
- Prior experience supporting Radio-Frequency Electronic Warfare products and technologies
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR)
Primary Level Salary Range: $214,100.00 - $321,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
