Program Design & Pricing Manager

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To manage a team responsible for the design and pricing for complex prospective new and/or renewal business, new client implementations and short-term initiatives; to conduct research and present findings to internal stakeholders for proposal development, program design and pricing for new and/or renewal business; and to research and analyze high-level products and services for development initiatives and opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages senior program design analysts and program design analysts on assigned projects from inception through implementation.
  • Assists the program design team on design and pricing of contract renewals.
  • Presents findings and analysis to senior management.
  • Develops and maintains strong cross functional partnerships with internal business functions to ensure support of pricing decisions.
  • Manages new client implementations and other short-term initiatives.
  • Conducts research on new service/product development projects.
  • Makes recommendations on training needs and facilitates process improvement to meet established operational and departmental requirements.
  • Assists in the implementation of new programs and evaluates existing policies and procedures.
  • Develops and shapes new policies and procedures in proposal development and pricing arena.
  • Provides support for department initiatives and opportunities.
  • Provides superior customer service and support to business/management strategies.

ADDITONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Travels as needed.
  • Supports the organization's quality program(s).

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Major in accounting field or insurance/risk management strongly preferred. Professional certification preferred.

Experience 

Ten (10) years of related industry/TPA experience in financial analysis or project management or equivalent combination of education and

experience required to include four (4) years of claims management experience.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Thorough knowledge of claims management in workers compensation, liability, and disability/absence management business lines
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Analytical and interpretive skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in deadline intensive environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
