Program Coordinator, Fields of the Future, Office of the Dean | McDonough School of Business - Georgetown University

 

The Program Coordinator will provide administrative and logistical support for the Sports Business Program and other Fields of the Future Initiatives at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. This role is essential in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, coordinating events, assisting with communications, and facilitating connections among students, alumni, faculty, and industry partners.

 

Working closely with program and initiative leadership, the Program Coordinator will contribute to the successful launch and growth of innovative programs at the intersection of business, sports, sustainability, AI, and other areas. Highly organized, dynamic, and proactive candidates with a passion for business and sports are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities and tasks are likely to shift over time as needs change.

 

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support for the Sports Business Program and other Fields of the Future Initiatives

  • Coordinate events, meetings, and program activities, including scheduling, planning, and on-site management

  • Assist with internal and external communications, including newsletters, emails, and promotional materials

  • Support student engagement by managing logistics for experiential learning opportunities, career programming, and industry collaboration

  • Manage program records and process expenses to ensure operational efficiency

  • Facilitate connections among students, faculty, alumni, and industry partners to strengthen program networks

  • Help collect and organize data for program assessment, reporting, and continuous improvement

Work Interactions

The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Initiatives, Office of the Dean and works closely with the Academic Director, Sports Business Program, and Fields of the Future faculty directors. This position interacts regularly with Marketing and Communications staff, Dean’s Office staff, and other faculty.

 

This role directly contributes to the University’s mission by advancing innovative academic and co-curricular programming that serves to differentiate the McDonough School of Business through its global and Jesuit focus. By facilitating impactful events, coordinating high-impact projects, and supporting a wide range of operations, the Program Coordinator will help drive the school’s commitment to principled leadership, global perspective, and ethical business practice, further strengthening McDonough’s reputation as a leader in forward-thinking education and real-world preparation.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in executive support, program coordination, event management, higher education administration, or a comparable role

  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Experience supporting student programming or other programs in an academic, non-profit, or professional setting

  • Proficiency with office and event management software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, project management platforms); familiarity with expense reporting preferred

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders, demonstrating cultural competence and commitment to organizational values

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in business, sports management, higher education administration, or a related field

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
