Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator actively participates in and leads (as appropriate) strategic planning, organizes operational processes, data management and analysis, and actively facilitates support of program operations and administrative components. Develops and supports the successful achievement of standards for providing evidence based patient care, performance improvement initiatives, and professional organization standards. In conjunction with service line leadership, support regional outreach activities and initiatives. Collaborates with Physicians to develop and apply practice guidelines, quality improvement mechanisms, and research to enhance the quality of care to patients and their families. Serves as a program liaison between Physician specialists, primary and consulting Physicians, clinical and support staff and the community. Supports research, education and patient care, including patient advocacy and compliance with regulatory and accrediting requirements.
What you will do:
Oversees the needed registry requirements for the service line (PCI, ICD, EP and Vascular/VQI).
▪ Participates in Cardiac and Vascular program committees/meetings.
▪ In conjunction with the Clinical Nurse Specialist, Professional Development Specialist and Clinical Services Manager coordinates, develops, implements and evaluates Cardiac and Vascular education offerings and materials.
▪ In conjunction with the Clinical Nurse Specialist and Professional Development Specialist, participates in the development and implementation of evidence-based practice education and competencies.
▪ Ensures quality and regulatory compliance related to cardiac standards using project management skills. Collaborates with the H&V leadership team with expectations and preparedness for the accreditation process required by the state of Michigan CON.
▪ Acts as a cardiac and vascular expert and resource to clinical staff, personally providing education, process improvement and quality metrics/data to Physicians, Nursing, and supportive staff in the clinical care departments (H&V, surgery, etc.).
What you will need:
Graduation from a NLN or AACN accredited school of nursing
Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) Degree from an accredited school of nursing
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure authorized in the state of Michigan.
Certified Nurse in subspecialty (CNRN, SCRN) or within one year. BLS certified. NIHSS certification.
Three years of nursing practice experience. One year of experience in dedicated service line.
Specialty credentialing preferred according to clinical nursing practice specialty area
