Job Summary: The primary purpose of the position is to function as the Electronics Program Analyst within the Facility Service Line, Electronics Department to perform work at the VAMC Tomah campus and its Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).
Major Duties:
Qualifications: To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/16/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Comprehensive knowledge and skill in applying a wide range of advanced practices, theories, and emerging information in Facility Special Purpose System Informatics and applications; experienced knowledge of national databases, analytical techniques and clinical support system applications and development techniques; comprehensive knowledge of the range of analytical and evaluative methods related to knowledge of informatics protocol, regulations, programs and processes related to informatics; skill in optimizing the use of available and emerging health information technologies to improve access to care for patients, and knowledge of emerging state of the art technology; Comprehensive knowledge of the data life cycle including data design, collection, and management in order to input, retrieve, analyze, summarize and present information effectively. Physical Requirements: This work requires moderate physical exertion and can involve prolonged periods of pushing, pulling, carrying, bending, stooping, crawling, crouching, reading inside of devices, and negotiating cramped working spaces. Frequently work may be performed inside close enclosures and in awkward positions. Work may also require long periods of standing and walking. Work can entail handling object weighing from 20 to 50 pounds. Some tasks involve climbing and working in high places using ladders or platforms. Adequate eyesight and dexterity is required to perform reading of diagrams and intricate repair operations. Technical, academic, and mental demands can be considerable as work performed will be of a precise nature and may require prolonged concentration. Stressful conditions may occur due to the nature of the medical system mission in support of patients, staff and rapid timelines.
