Job Summary: This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Assistant Secretary for Administration, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia. Major Duties:

  • WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY Oversees accountability and lifecycle management of office equipment and technology assets, including security systems, data systems, and telecommunications. Applies qualitative and quantitative analytical methods to assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements to processes related to office moves, equipment management, IT services, parking, and space utilization, resolving complex operational issues with minimal supervision. Leads the coordination and execution of office relocations, workspace reconfigurations, and space utilization initiatives. Manages and evaluates administrative office functions, including procurement, property management, and space utilization activities, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and internal procedures. Evaluates the effectiveness of administrative and logistical operations and advises leadership on improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and resource utilization; implements approved changes and monitors outcomes. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support mission requirements and ensure coordinated logistics operations.

Qualifications: WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR GS-11: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Tracking equipment and technology such as security systems, data, and telephones for an office. Providing space planning and utilization support. Coordinating administrative office functions such as procuring office supplies and equipment, property inventory and/or space management. Developing various communications to include correspondence, memos, reports, or operating procedures. OR PH.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related GS-12: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Analyzing and evaluating logistics and administrative operations to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements. Managing and overseeing equipment, property, and space utilization programs to ensure accountability and operational readiness. Coordinating complex administrative and logistics functions across multiple stakeholders while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Developing and implementing policies, procedures, or guidance to improve administrative and operational effectiveness.
