Job Summary: The Legislative and Congressional Oversight (LCO) Office provides customer focused and integrating services to key leaders in the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW) and the defense acquisition and sustainment community at large on all legislative and congressional matters related to acquisition; sustainment; and nuclear, chemical, and biological activities.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Manages the full scope and life-cycle of all OUSW(A&S)-assigned GAO and DoD Inspector general (IG) audits. Provides input into written procedures within OUSW(A&S) in accordance with DoDI 7050.01, DoD Hotline Program, for promptly receiving, prioritizing, processing, controlling, tracking, investigating, independently, and objectively reviewing, and reporting all cases submitted through the DoD Hotline. Supports the Director, LCO with development, review, and coordination of major policy statements in response to direction or inquiries from the White House, Office of Management and Budget, and Congress. Performs daily review of current congressional issues and prepares quick analyses to the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition & Sustainment (USW(A&S)) as needed.

Qualifications: In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. You may qualify at the NH-IV level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience at the NH-III grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates 1) knowledge in reviewing, evaluating, and recording all incoming complaints and making recommendations on the proper disposition; and 2) researching program issues, analyzing options, and recommending courses of action through reports, papers, briefings, and correspondence. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
