Program Analyst, Asset Management Engineering (hybrid schedule)

Responsible for tracking and reporting of multiple projects being managed by the engineering team. The role will involve communications with numerous stakeholders involved in project design, planning, execution, and executive oversight. Responsible for tracking multiple projects simultaneously. In this position you will be focused on data visualization, dashboards, reports, KPI scorecards, asset strategies, financial forecasting, supporting project and program funding approvals and project prioritization strategies. Individual will also support efforts to research and develop plans for additional asset upgrade opportunities including investigation and assessment of new equipment, tools and technologies relevant to the asset management of the electric system.

Essential Functions: 

  • Coordinates collection and management of data for projects within Eversource’s portfolio related to project development and execution, including financial data; project milestone adherence; risk assessment and implementation; and performance metrics.  

  • Develops monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal management.

  • Design, create prototypes, develop, deploy, and support Power BI dashboards and reports that meet business and technical requirements.

  • Publish and schedule Power BI reports and data sources.

  • Supports all regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Works with Engineering, Project Management, and Cost Estimating to develop detailed project scope, cost, and schedule.

  • Assists facilitation of interdisciplinary project teams to select the best solutions, document alternatives analysis, and presents project approval justifications to the Solution Design Committee and/or Eversource Project Approval Committee.

  • Create the design methodology and project documentation.

  • Identifies, initiates, and prioritizes projects for inclusion in the one-year and five-year Capital Budget.

  • Provide input to the development of capital budgets and review trends to ensure the execution of future plans.

  • Tracks progress on existing programs and projects.

  • Work collaboratively across the organization to collect and analyze the data for the reports and dashboards.

  • Support internal and external tracking and reporting requirements, including reporting of metrics related to the achievement of project benefits.

  • Portfolio of projects is complex, multi-disciplinary in nature, with multiple sensitive external stakeholders and elevated financial exposure profile requiring strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Develops means to ensure systems/processes are working as designed.

  • Respond to feedback from users regarding dashboards and reports.

  • Reverse-engineer and troubleshoot existing reports and dashboards implementations.

  • Provide support for the data maintenance and data quality effort.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill: 

  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial documents.

  • Ability to understand and utilize economic, financial, and industry data to accurately diagnose business strengths and weaknesses, identify key issues, and develop strategies and plans.

  • Working knowledge of information technology and use of Eversource’s office automation and information systems.

  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to analyze data and information and extract relevant factors.

  • Demonstrated statistical analytical techniques/skills with attention to details.

  • Experience extracting data from multiple databases including MS Access, and a variety of internal SQL and Oracle databases. 

  • Understanding of utility operations and business practices preferred

  • Strong leadership and communication skills (including written, oral, and public speaking) required, with knowledge in electric industry compliance and regulatory affairs.

  • Demonstrated skill with MS office application, especially strong with spreadsheets.

  • Ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to handle changing and emerging priorities.

  • Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations; willingness to work to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to enhance internal and external customer satisfaction.

  • High degree of initiative, resourcefulness, and accountability.

  • Ability to create/manage Microsoft Access Databases, Microsoft Excel databases and associated user interfaces (visual basic, SQL or similar programming ability) is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of Major Substation equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, etc.), protection and controls, SCADA and communication, and overhead/underground electrical lines is highly desirable.

  • Organizational and/or project management expertise and a knowledge of other related disciplines is preferred. 

Education:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, engineering related discipline or equivalent in combined education and related experience   

                    

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related experience required,

  • Experience in the utility industry ideal but not required

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Power BI is preferred    

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.

  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

$82,050.00-$91,170.00
