Summary

The Manager, AECO Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for leading a team of Project Managers to drive consistent, high-quality delivery across AECO Professional Services engagements.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, AECO Resource & Project Management, this role is accountable for translating PMO strategy into execution. The Manager ensures delivery discipline, operational consistency, and accountability across projects, while supporting the organization’s broader goals of improving margin performance, delivery predictability, and customer outcomes.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on stabilizing execution, embedding standardized practices, and elevating team performance at scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management Leadership & Team Execution

  • Lead and manage a team of Project Managers, ensuring accountability for delivery outcomes, utilization, and customer satisfaction

  • Drive consistent execution across all engagements, ensuring adherence to PMO standards, methodologies, and governance practices

  • Coach and develop Project Managers to improve performance, decision-making, and ownership of project outcomes

  • Partner with the Senior Manager to align team priorities with organizational goals, delivery strategy, and resource plans

  • Establish a strong operating cadence including 1:1s, delivery reviews, and performance tracking

2. Delivery Excellence & Operational Discipline

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to contractual and financial expectations

  • Reinforce scope governance and proactive risk management to reduce margin leakage and delivery variability

  • Drive adoption of standardized delivery frameworks, tools, and reporting practices across all projects

  • Monitor and improve key delivery KPIs including utilization, project margin, customer satisfaction, and delivery success rates

  • Act as an escalation point for delivery challenges and support resolution across customer and internal stakeholders

3. Portfolio Oversight & Execution Visibility

  • Maintain visibility into project portfolio health, proactively identifying risks related to scope, timeline, cost, or resource alignment

  • Conduct regular project health reviews and intervene early to mitigate delivery issues

  • Ensure accurate forecasting of project timelines, resource needs, and revenue expectations

  • Partner with Resource Management to ensure appropriate staffing and workload balance across the team

4. Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, Consulting, and Product teams to align expectations and improve delivery outcomes

  • Support alignment between sales commitments and delivery capabilities to reduce overcommitment and customer dissatisfaction

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Professional Services organization

5. PMO Standardization & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the Senior Manager in embedding consistent PMO practices, tools, and governance across AECO

  • Identify gaps in delivery processes and drive improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and predictability

  • Reinforce a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across the PMO team

  • Strong project and program management expertise with the ability to drive execution at scale

  • High level of accountability with a focus on outcomes, not just process adherence

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to influence across teams and functions

  • Effective coaching and people leadership skills, particularly in developing Project Managers

  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret and act on delivery and financial metrics

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in ambiguous situations

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management within a Professional Services environment

  • 5+ years of experience leading customer-facing teams and managing Project Managers

  • Proven experience driving delivery execution, process improvement, and operational consistency

  • Strong understanding of project financials including utilization, margin, and forecasting

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in PMO transformation or standardization initiatives

  • Background in SaaS or construction technology environments

  • Experience working with PSA, CRM, and reporting tools

  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or Agile certifications
