The LSU Manship School of Mass Communication invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track position as a Professional-In-Residence for the Digital Advertising area to begin in Fall 2026. We seek a distinguished digital practitioner to teach courses in digital advertising, strategic communication and other courses related to areas of expertise. We are particularly interested in candidates whose professional or teaching experience incorporates digital content creation and management, digital media analytics, content marketing on social media, artificial intelligence (AI), digital advertising and/or other related topics.
Job Responsibilities:
Teach three undergraduate courses per semester. 75%
Develop a portfolio of service activities, which preferably will include support for the Manship School’s efforts to promote student success and experiential learning. Serve as an adviser for student organization(s). 25%
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in mass communication, advertising, digital media or related field; 5+ years of experience.
Degree Substitute: Candidates with significant professional experience who do not currently possess the required degree may still be considered. Bachelor's degree in mass communication, advertising, digital media or related field with professional work-related experience that clearly documents the qualifications to teach the course; 10 or more years of industry-related professional experience. .
Additional Requirements:
FERPA - As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students or the appropriate law enforcement agency.
