Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Production Test Technician will perform the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of UAS systems and other subcomponents needed within manufacturing that include both Electronic and mechanical assemblies. Adheres to test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment. Performs a variety of electronic, mechanical and test functions following written Standard Operating Procedures and verbal instructions as part of the Teledyne FLIR manufacturing team. Good organizational and relevant computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office) are needed for maintaining production records. Job duties will have overlap across all products manufactured at the facility. This role involves pre- and post-flight inspections, repairs, firmware updates, and maintaining test records. The position requires a strong understanding of UAS technology

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct flight tests to assess performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Analyze flight data to identify issues with hardware or software.
  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections of UAS.
  • Testing of bare and assembled mechanical parts and electronic components following manufacturing documentation instructions, process documents, travelers, etc.
  • Perform sub-assembly and process assembly inspections.
  • Test and troubleshoot completed instruments through QA/QC processes.
  • Complete production/quality related documentation.
  • Assist Engineering with the building and testing of prototypes.
  • Perform work in accordance with quality and engineering standards.
  • Inspect and document completed assembly work.
  • Meet work quotas while conforming to quality standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area to ensure professional work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of associate degree or certifications in relevant field Required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment required.
  • Experience with schematic reading and comprehension (mechanical and electrical) required.
  • Experience using measurement tools (multi-meters, continuity testers, tape measure, calipers, etc.) and hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, torque tools, small power tools) required.
  • Strong experience with mechanical assembly concepts preferred.
  • Experience in IPC-610, IPC-620, J-Standard 001, or quality-controlled environment preferred.
  • Clear communication skills to collaborate with engineering teams and report findings. 
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to maintain an organized and professional work area. 
  • Proficiency in UAS technology, flight operations, and troubleshooting. 
  • FAA Part 107 Drone pilots license Preferred, or ability to obtain after hire
