Minimum Requirements:

  • Laboratory Technician, Technologist diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in a Petroleum Refinery lab or other analytical laboratory
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation and software (chromatography, spectroscopy, electrochemistry)
  • Experience performing analytical wet chemistry techniques, including titrations, gravimetric analysis, and sample preparation
  • Strong attention to detail for accuracy and reporting

Responsibilities:

  • Perform property testing on various refinery streams and finished products
  • Follow statistical rules and perform corrective actions
  • Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory equipment
  • Record all testing results in the Lab Information Management System (LIMS)

Location and other Key details:

  • The position is located out of our Sarnia Refinery Office, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway, Sarnia Ontario
  • This position has a 6-month probationary period which thereafter is represented by the Sarnia Employees' Bargaining Association
  • Hours of work follow a rotating shift schedule, including 8-hour and 10-hour shifts, with the possibility of overtime depending on business needs
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting and work in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor
