Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.JOB TITLE: Broadcast Production Technician / Master Control Technician
FOX6, Milwaukee is on the hunt for a stellar Broadcast Production Engineer. This position will play a vital role in a team that supports News Operations, Production, Master Control and the entire television station. You will work with producers and the control room crew to create live, compelling, error-free newscasts. RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role, you will operate broadcast control room and master control equipment. You will direct newscasts using Ross Overdrive, operate audio consoles and robotic cameras, and successfully bring in live shots from reporters in the field. You will perform the duties of Master Control operations such as successfully executing weather and breaking news cut ins, editing playlists, carrying out EAS tests, and monitoring transmitter functions in accordance with FCC rules and regulations. You will monitor broadcast streams, insert commercials, record and prep on-air content. You will work under tight deadlines and must have a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in one or more of the following areas and willingness to learn the others: directing newscasts, audio operations, robotic cameras, master control, and TOC (bringing in live shots). Experience with ITX, Ross Overdrive, iNews, BitCentral, and Chyron is preferred. Ability to work unique shifts and schedules including weekends and holidays is required. Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Must make quick decisions and react quickly to changing events while remaining calm under pressure. Strong attention to detail is necessary. High school diploma required, college or technical degree preferred. The right candidate should have 1-2 years’ experience in a broadcast operation. This is a union represented position.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $16.98-37.58 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
